RELATIONSHIPS

The shape of this drawing represents the way in which relationships form society
We each a have a personality and the combination of two or more personalities forms a relationship
this in turn affects surrounding relationships and shapes society as a whole
Different areas of the world have widely differing social structures
some are matriarchal and some are patriarchal
some societies even support combined family structures
similar to those in the animal world who separate
for example, offspring into a communal group cared for by selected members of the group
not necessarily their parents
This drawing is a series of smaller drawings depicting relationships
in this case restricted to 578 adults
with everything from the loving, happy, dependant, joyous,
funny, arguing, violent or supportive types of relationships
right thru’ to the same sex couples, love triangles and the egoist in love with himself

WILL IT BE LONELY
Loneliness is probably
the saddest of all emotions
When it is just you, yourself, alone,
where before you were ‘together
’
Will it be lonely?
It may only be a question of Time
before you are together again
…..
…..But if your need is impossible to fill
Time will also heal
and Time may bring someone else
to fill your void

When being in the same room
is enough to make you feel safe

REMEMBER ME

2002
Size Un-framed 10 x 10cm
Size framed 20 x 20cm in a deep frame
Set between 2 sheets of glass

.

REMEMBER ME
Did you ever want
to walk up to the ‘nice’ person
who treated you so badly,
way back then?
Show them just what a mistake they made,
what they missed?
Chances are
they would not even remember you,
But I wonder?
What might stir their mind
when you tapped them on the shoulder
and sweetly said
“Remember me?”
I imagine the reply might be “…………Eh…”
While they furiously searched
their memory for clues
and all their bad deeds,
mean moments
and guilty secrets
flash before their minds eye
…..This drawing always makes me smile
when I see it
because one does not have to
become like them
Making them squirm – just for a moment
would be enough
I know I will never do it
but…………………………
it makes me smile

ONE BABY ONE DADDY

Framed 395.00
Original signed pen and ink drawing
on heavy cartridge paper
2002
Size Un-framed 10 x 10cm
Size framed 20 x 20cm in a deep frame
Set between 2 sheets of glass

ONE BABY ONE DADDY
Sometimes I think new fathers
look as if they have no idea
of what to do with a tiny baby
Perhaps because a baby has grown,
and already been
with a mother, for nine months
Perhaps because a mother
is born with age old instincts
Perhaps because a father
has other tasks to fulfil
Perhaps any number of reasons
and always with enough love

and anyway they both,
very soon, grow out of it!
