History is written as we live it
Slow steady progress inevitably inexorably
takes each of us forward
But sometimes…….
When we reach for something much higher
When we stretch our resolve even further

to beyond
just sometimes….
It is possible to exceed all expectations……
to realise our very dreams
On his own man can achieve a lot
but as part of a team
he can achieve a lot more
than the sum of the members
in that team

Our only son wanted a brother or sister
but when expecting a second child there is the worry
will he feel unwanted or resent having to share his parents
with a new baby who needs a lot of attention ?
This little story was to show that an only child can get what he wants
a brother or sister to play with
and still be equally loved………………………….
In the beginning there were a couple
who had a baby whom they loved
then they got pregnant
and had another baby
who needed a lot of attention
but they still loved their first child just as much
and became an even more happy family!
(Now no-one has to sleep in a room all alone)

The people on the ledges represent
those ready to take the plunge!
The height, from which you step off into the unknown,
represent the level of difficulty you are attempting
The rectangular columns below
represent the options you are attempting
and the spaces between represent failure
The people at the very top are gambling all
hoping for the greatest reward
The blindfolded couple on the right
are hoping to get married
The ones on the lowest ledges
are only taking a small chance
hoping to get away without a parachute
some do – some don’t
Both the “ Give up the day job” and the “Promotion”
columns have someone just climbing on to them
and someone else hanging on to the attempt
by their fingertips – They all make it
but sometimes it takes a huge effort
The person jumping up and down has just won the Lotto
and those sitting or lying down are taking a rest
before continuing the fight
The blindfolds represent the enormity of the attempt
Taking on a partner for the rest of your life
is a huge gamble – you can not possibly know how you both develop and change through all those years – although when it does work – it is great
The parachutes represent preparation, readiness or support from outside – For example if it is a ground breaking new business venture you are attempting then if you cover all the possibilities and use caution you can succeed – Or if your marriage is in trouble there are Friends/family/councillors and if all else fails divorce – to save you – Listed above are options – there are several empty columns so feel free – add your own
We are constantly faced with opportunities and decisions and there must be something
you have always wanted to try
If you do not try, you can not succeed
So go on!
Take the plunge….now
This is the one that goes……
After being struck by lightning, the ground falling out from under you
while being stuck on a ledge with a poisonous snake having to swing out of a rope which is too short
over shark infested waters and expected to swing tarzan style onto an impossibly precarious platform
from which you are expected to dive into a river
which immediately turns into a roaring waterfall inhabited by a large white hungry bear
with only a log to cling on to as you traverse the afore mentioned shark infested water
and then to be greeted on the beach by a friendly native AND a tiger……
The next chapter would then begin……..
After escaping all the perils our hero…………………..
But it is true that no matter how dire the current catastrophy seems to be
Against all odds mankind has a knack of surviving
Heros pluck drowning children from swollen rivers
and Mothers lift impossible weights to save thier children
A few days after you thought there was no way out
You wonder why you worried at all
So if things look bad now……. hold on
If you are having a bad day
or week or year
Where bad turns to worse
and Life is uphill
When things look bleak
where ends just won’t meet
Look on the bright side and always
remember………
No matter how dire
the current calamity seems to be
Against all odds mankind
has a knack of surviving!
Heros pluck drowning children
from swollen rivers and
Mothers lift impossible
weights to save their children
So take heart!
The day WILL come
when looking back
You wonder why you worried at all
So if things look bad now…….
just hold on!!

Mankind has always loved a challenge
Ever since he won the fight for survival
thousands of years ago
he has sought to replace
the instinctive need to fight – to win!
Throughout all areas of our world
the strongest will survive
games were invented to test the mind
and competitions for physical supremacy
exist within all civilisations
from the beginning of time
Our games and competitions
are just different
So if you want to race down a mountain
faster than anyone else
Make your first million
by the time you are thirty
Be the first to climb the highest mountain
or conquer the roughest sea
If you want to spend your life
in the seemingly impossible search for
a cure to disease
or if you just want to play
one round of perfect golf!
Relax and enjoy the challenge
and remember you are only obeying
a natural instinct ………!
You laugh because if you don’t
you might cry
You cope because if you don’t
you might break
The memories – The Good and The Bad
Are yours and will be with you forever……
Then – like a new dawn – you realise
You are Free
That now every choice you make
about your life – is yours alone
Every day becomes not just ‘Another’
but ‘A’ new day
Your world takes on new colour
a new excitement!
You can shake off
all those years of compromise
You can be You again!

It happens all the time
It can happen in the most unlikely places
between the most unlikely people
and yet it never becomes boring
In fact when it happens
it is like nothing that has ever happened before
and all of us firmly believe it will never end

First, she is alone – He sees her sitting there
He stops and talks – She listens – He helps her up
They walk together – They fall in love
