Follow your dream

If there is something your heart longs for…
If you have always wanted to learn……..
If you have always wanted to see……..
If you have always wanted to be……..
or
If you have a dream
No matter how big or how small
And even though that dream
May seem to be beyond your reach
If you give it your all
You never know what you might achieve
If you have a dream…..
…..Follow it!

Retirement is a freedom

Retirement is a transition from
waking up in the morning and having to do…….
To…: “Waking up in the morning to
the question “What would I like to do today….?”
Retirement is the change
from tomorrow’s tasks being predetermined
To…- Being able to change your mind
and go fishing or go walking or even staying in bed!
Retirement does not have to be in a cottage
or where the sun shines every day
Nor…..
Does it have to follow any pattern whatsoever!
Retirement is a state of mind
In fact…….
Retirement is a freedom to choose

Quality Time

A lot of our younger years were spent
Wanting to be “old enough to……..”
and ‘X’ number of years was like a magic barrier
to be reached or illicitly crossed!
To ride a bike ‘on the road’
– to leave school, to wear make-up,
get a job, drive a car
go dancing and / or drinking or even to vote!
We never seemed quite to be ……..
tall enough
for the fun fair ride
or old enough to gain entry
or mature enough to get insured in Dad’s car!
As each goal was achieved – another appeared
But
Life is not a race to the end
There is no prize for finishing first
Each day comes but once
and all we truly have is the memory of our past
and this one moment in Time
It is the quality of how we spend our time
which make the best memories

The Key

It may be just – somewhere
that you hang your hat
It may be your life’s’ dream
It may be where your heart is
It may even be your castle
To you it may mean privacy
To you it may mean peace of mind
Your space to unwind
Your space to develop
Your space to be yourself
A key is not alive – it can not love you
But the Key to where you live
Is probably
the single most important possession –
that your soul will ever own

Retirement re-inventment

Retirement from work – allows time for living
Time to do all the things
you never could fit in – around work
Life changes dramatically from
“Have to” to “Want to”
“Not enough time”
will no longer depend on necessity
but only a choice!
Anything you may want to try or experience
is an option
Exciting times lie ahead – with freedom to choose
Your own imagination
will be your biggest restriction!
So rather than re-tire
perhaps re-invent
should be the word of the moment!

Retirement

It may be early – It may be late
But the day will come
When finally you can empty your Jar
of all work related bulk
No more:- ‘Preparing for work’ –
‘What to wear for work?’
‘Early starts’ – ‘Getting to work’ –
‘Working’ – ‘Late nights’
‘Returning home from work’ –
‘Week-end Courses’
or ‘Socialising after work’
No more ‘Office Christmas Parties’
(Forever!)
No more uniform – whether Firebrigade,
‘Suit & Tie’ or tracksuit!
No More 9 – 5, Accounts, Schedules,
Targets, Timetables,
Productivity, Pay rises or freezes,
No more Work Colleagues,
Customers, Clients or
anybody else who is always right!!
No more commuting – No more Rush Hour……
No more Work!
Your Jar is empty….
What you choose to put in it
is totally up to you!
…..are you ready?

Stress

If the high pressure of demands on you

produce a storm – instead of results
and if the forecast is: More of the same
It is time to stop – Stand back – Chill out
Stress can rule your life
but only if you let it
Let your brain relax
re
and a book – listen to music
walk the dog – play golf – dig the garden
run till you tire – go fly a kite
do absolutely anything
or nothing at all!
whatever it takes to calm the storm
…..and the Sun will shine
and you will manage
whatever it is you have to do
much better – much faster
than when you had to fight against stress
as well as
everything else!

No more 9-5

No more clocking up the hours
or clocking up the miles
No more Rush-hour there
or Rush-hour back
No more Flexi-time late nights
or early starts
No more targets
Rules or new Regulations
The last few days – the last few miles…
The rush is finally over!
No more – ‘Living by the clock’
From now on  Freedom
From now on
only ‘Living!’

New Beginnings

Never having to leave after saying
“Goodnight”
“I’ll see you tomorrow”
means waking up
and
you will be there
Someone to be with
forever
 together

Look to the future 2

Nothing stays the same
and some things in life – never change
The past is a great place to visit
But the present is the only place to live
Look to the future with positive expectation
Because the future starts
right now
