Wedding Anniversary with mount B

Wedding Anniversary

Each year together
Like a step on a winding stairway
Full to the brim with memories and emotions
Love and laughter
comfort and excitement
“….do you remember the day”
and “Will I ever forget…”
Some sad times – not forgotten
but easier when shared
And always outnumbered by happier times
Life like a stairway
goes ever on to the future
A future with so much still to enjoy
Together

Love Story

This drawing is just a little love story
Just like all the other ones
From the beginning of time
it has happened to millions of people
It happens all the time
It can happen in the most unlikely places
between the most unlikely people
and yet it never becomes boring
In fact when it happens
it is like nothing that has ever happened before
and all of us firmly believe it will never end
This one goes like this…….
First, she is alone – He sees her sitting there
He stops and talks – She listens – He helps her up
They walk together – They fall in love
Happy ending

Happy ever after

Falling in love is a game of chance
Getting married is a bit of a lottery
Luck will probably determine our fate
When you fall in love with some one
you don’t know what else you might get
A bossy mother-in-law
An interfering brother-in-law
or a thwarted ex-lover
lurking in the undergrowth!
You could find out that she was betrothed
to the king of Prussia at birth
or that he is really
the long lost heir to billions!
It is of course also true
that you might get a second mother
some wonderful children
in fact a whole new extended family
who will welcome you with open arms
into their homes
and only enter yours when asked!
We do not walk around with details
of our religious preferences nor our historical,
social, financial or cultural backgrounds
displayed permanently for all to study
before a friendship starts
So it’s usually too late – Love has struck
But only two fall in love
Only two get married
Only two have to live with their consequences
If only all “Well meaning”
“Interfering” – “Outsiders” would leave them alone
to make their own decisions
To be together
To make their own mistakes
To live their own lives
Then there would be so much less heartache
and so much more happiness Ever After

For fun I have randomly selected
some of examples of what you might get
If you are lucky or even if you are not
But remember Love has no barriers

Look to the future

Nothing stays the same
and some things in life – never change
The past is a great place to visit
But the present is the only place to live
Look to the future with positive expectation
Because the future starts
right now

Down the aisle

Going down the aisle is the best part of a wedding day –
The relief is enormous
All the worry is gone – The most important part of the day is over
Your partner turned up
You both looked great – nobody tripped
and all the words came out correctly
Now you can both concentrate on enjoying the day
It does not matter if you get covered in confetti
or how many great aunts want to kiss you
It does not matter how long the fotographer wants everyone to “Say cheese”
or how cold or wet it is!
It does not matter that great uncle Oscar does not like the meal
or that Mary’s has gone cold!
It does not matter that the icing is too hard to cut
or that the knife is blunt
It does not matter how embarrising or long or boring the speeches are
It does not even matter if too much wine is consumed
by those who always do

The most important part of the day is over
You are different now than when you went up the aisle
you are married
you are husband and wife forever!

Finding a match

The first meeting
A night out, dancing perhaps
Hours and hours talking
Walking – Eating – together
This is how a love story begins
They are all different and yet the same
When you find your match
there is no more “Goodbye” at the door
only a happy ending

and what did you do today Darling?

“Oh nothing special – when you left I got the children up
 – Fed, washed and dressed them, put them on the bus
 – Did the washing – Hung it out to dry – Did the ironing
- Baked a cake – Made chocolate buns
 – Took the car to the Shopping Centre –
Delivered my dry cleaning and collected yours
 – Did the supermarket shopping –
Long delay at the check-out
- Ran to the Coffee Shop –
Late for coffee with a friend
- put the shopping in the car – Drove home
Brought the shopping in – put it away
 – Baked more cake –
Got things ready for the party – set the table
 – blew up the balloons
- I met them off the school bus
 – even including our two
 – She got nice presents
- blew out the candles.
 – We played Pass the Parcel
and they left after two and a half hours
 – We cleaned up the mess
 – No permanent damage
 – Did the dishes
 – Cooked dinner – Roasted chicken.
 Nothing special

And what did you do today Darling?”

“Oh just the usual – I left here – Traffic bumper to bumper all the way to the Airport – meeting in Cork – expanding again. Car into car park – Check in – Board – paperwork – Disembark – Taxi – Some calls on the mobile – Traffic heavy met Mr. Builder – Chaired the meeting – Worked thru’ lunch – Tea and sandwiches – Walked to the site – Sorted the problems. Taxi back to the Airport – Traffic not bad – Someone had lost their ticket at the check-in – Board – Paperwork and a drink – Some guy tried to use his mobile on the plane! – Disembark – Found my car – Traffic not bad – Back to the office early – Mountain of paperwork – Telephone kept ringing – finally finished – Not the last to leave the office – Quick walk to the car park – Back into traffic – Bumper to bumper and here I am – Just the usual
“And what did you do today Darling?”

Just married

You have survived the Hen Party
and the Stag Night
– in tact!
With great memories and only a slight headache!!
The Wedding day was everything
you could have wished for….
Complete with guests
Everyone you wanted to be there

as well as those “Who ‘had’ to be invited”
The presents were perfect – mostly
only five electric kettles and three monstrous lamps
You will have to drink a lot of tea and coffee
while you think of how to ‘accidentally’
loose the lamps
The Photographer
whose job is to tell everyone where to move to
and where to stand…..  and when to smile
for a very looooong time
The children and the babies
well behaved for a while
but eventually out of control
and far more noisy than their size!
The Food – the Flowers – the Music…
but none of that will matter
When finally you get home – just the two of you
With the rest of your lives to spend together
Exactly as you wish
You are now – “Just
married!”
